Send the Boys Around
Alternatively a swift bang on the side of the old tele might pay rewards. I don't think any pressure has been placed upon our workshy and unfortunately our young and often hapless school leavers are getting caught up in the downward spiral. The latter never had a chance, 16 and out of our education system versus a Pole of say 23 fighting for a job. Then to criticise said youth is crass indeed. Take a look at what we created and there's the fault, and to discard it is shameful.Originally posted by sasguru View PostAgain fair enough and well argued. Or, combining your and DimPrawn’s solution, after secret negotiations between the Brit and Pole, the Brit lets the Pole take the job, in return for an hourly commission. That is, which ever one of them is offered the job for whatever reason, the Brit aims to ensure the Pole gets the job. The Pole is happy (no competetion or bad feeling), the employer is happy (identical cost, minimum wage) and the stereotypical lazy Brit is happy too.So the job gets done by the Pole and we pay the Brit not to do it.Comment

Well wouldn't you say traditional Tory policy was right: grammar schools to give the working class a leg up, limited immigration, tightening of welfare benefits.Originally posted by Damp Cave View PostAlternatively a swift bang on the side of the old tele might pay rewards. Yes
Most of the economic benefit and skills shortages are covered by a smallish percentage of the people we take. The rest are of little economic benefit, it just evens out because of the very high taxes the top lot pay. I don't actually believe Cameron is able to put any meat on the bones of his policy because of what we see from Hain 'The racist slayer' and the like. His handling of the Mercer affair was p poor and the latest candidate 'bigmouth strikes again' has made it almost impossible to say a damn word anymore. He cannot open his mouth without first saying we all know immigration is good for the country blah blah blah, well I don't think the majority think it is. So he's badly out of touch with the common man, or he's playing at being seen to be whiter than white to avoid the slayers wrath.Originally posted by sasguru View PostWell wouldn't you say traditional Tory policy was right: grammar schools to give the working class a leg up, limited immigration, tightening of welfare benefits.Comment

That is bollocks. Why would Cameron be scared of Hain, if he knew the voters were behind him? That would be a politicians dream.Originally posted by Damp Cave View PostMost of the economic benefit and skills shortages are covered by a smallish percentage of the people we take. Could it be that the Conservatives are more in touch with public opinion than you are?
Most people are concerned about the levels of immigration, but anyone who lives in the real world (i.e. the world where companies and health services are run) knows that some immigration is essential. And I don't believe that most people are "racist".Hard Brexit now!

Which bit is balls then?
Hain, the mighty media, his fragile lead will quickly disappear as the British public are easily brainwashed. They have been pecked squarely on the central forehead for too long. Of course they also see people losing their jobs for daring to question.Originally posted by sasguru View PostThat is bollocks. The working class labour vote will never vote tory and are only likely to switch further right as we clearly see happening in northern towns. Immigrant’s will always vote labour, the rest in the middle will be swayed by what they believe is the ‘nice’ thing to do. Of course most don’t vote, if they were forced to then boy would we see some fireworks.Comment

Your analysis is poor. The media currently have an anti-immigrant campaign going + the poor economic news with banks etc. There are plenty of the working class who did and will vote Tory. And there are plenty of successful immigrants down south who are natural Tory voters. And the ones in the middle will vote for whatver they think is a comfortable life - currently with increased competition from immigrants, the war in Iraq, and the financial news I would predict a Tory victory.Originally posted by Damp Cave View PostHain, the mighty media, his fragile lead will quickly disappear as the British public are easily brainwashed. But the media (read Murdoch) is key and just as they decided after 3 terms that the Tories should go, the signs are now that they have decided for change.Hard Brexit now!
