I am about to be screwed

BMW finance came to pick my contract hire car up yesterday. Over the last 2 years it had accumulated a rich collection of knocks and scrapes. I took it to this local paint expert who touched it all up for £600. I must say even on close inspection I could not tell that the work had been done.

Anyway the finance company sent this guy who took half an hour to go over it and he reported every single one of the bumps and scrapes (though I was not there to sign the document).

i got the car on a really cheap low cost contract hire deal, but I think I am about to be landed by a huge bill. In the past the leasing companies (though not BMW finance) just sent some old boy round who couldnt even see whether it was a car or a boat, let alone pick out any repairs.

Has this happened to any of you?

Your best bet is to drive into him on the way back to the garage, prefereably totalling said Beamer.

Those "scarpes" can be real buggers to cover up.
Anyway, it'll only be a piffling few thousand DA. Pay the man and damn his impudence!

Not to me. Then again, I manage to drive without bumping and scraping my car against things.

(FFS, the rude word filter keeps changing "scraping" to "scarping"...)

Either you are not married or your wife is not allowed to drive your car

He obviously knew what he was doing, a professional can tell even if they did a good job

If it's in reasonable retailable condition it shouldn't be too bad. If it looks rough then prepare to be shafted
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Shouldn't you just pay them a few months late, and recoup your losses through the extra interest?

                If it's more than £10, though, I'd do a P4.

FFS. Buy your wife a Fiesta or summink. Your bill could possibly be the price of a small car anyway.
