Theres a debate about whether exercise really helps you lose weight (see
    http://nymag.com/news/sports/38001/

but what it will do is tone you up so you look better anyway. My wife has dropped a dress size in 4 months without losing weight by exercising 3 times a week (twice with a personal trainer)

Sally much as I love you dearly, Slimfast FFS?

If you need to lose 3 stone then don't do it for your wedding, do it coz you need to. It's hard but you have the character. You quit smoking, remember.
      Hard Brexit now!

I just want a quick fix.

In 5 years time I'd like to be a non smoker, the appropriate healthy weight, and really fit (I'd love to do the great North Run), and i will get there (cracked the first one, like you said!)

But for now...I just want to shift a bit of weight the easy way. Its hard doing exercise this big anyway to be honest.

Plus slimfast isn't as bad as it's reputation you know - it's packed with vitamins and goodness. Its probably far better for you than Atkins/Slimming world/etc. And you get to eat a normal meal at night.
At the minute, I eat a bacon and hash brown sarnie for breakfast, and a sarnie/something from the canteen+wispa for my dinner.

Is a shake and a snack bar really that worse?
          The pope is a tard.

Start small. Forget the bacon and hash brown and eat a fruit salad for brekky instead.

Eat slowly...... some people put on weight cause they eat to much than their body actually needs. If you eat slowly chewing each mouth until it is liquid it gives your stomach time to send a message to your brain telling you to stop as your full. Try it you will be shocked. It will speed up your metabalism (spelling ?) which in turn will burn the food you eat quicker and then moving onto stored energy (fat) even if your sat round on CUK all day.

I've done this and hated the fact that i couldn't finish my favourite pizza
Thats the way the cookie crumbles

Best way to lose the fat is weights. Not saying you have to end up like Arnie, though! Muscle burns calories, and carries on doing so for a fair while after you have stopped exercising. Running not so good, and, IMHO, more likely to result in injury. Good luck though.

its not worse, but its probably not a lot better SA, sounds to me like you aren't eating enough to keep your metabolism going but what you are eating is the wrong stuff. You need to make sure you eat good things but regularly and Slimfast is no good for you as to make the weight stay off you need to make a diet change - not "go on a diet". You have plenty of time and if you start to do this now, then you should be able to reach whatever target weight you want to get to.

                      But, just my 2p worth!
