Manchester benefited a lot from a couple of Paddies driving a truck full of home made explosives into the city, parking it outside M&S and blowing it up.

The City centre was a dump but it's quite nice now.

It may well be I get a for this - but it seriously was the best thing that could have happened to this city. It changed for the better.

Just because a few cranes are visible on the Manchester city centre skyline, plus a crap fountain where the once famous tramps' playground once stood, does NOT mean Manchester is now somehow blessed.
