Normally the frogs / newts in my garden eat the little blighters since I built a big pond - but this year they've had no chance. Presumably there'll be lots of fat frogs, and a lot of frogs next year.

And fat cats (other than in that London)

I like having Nicky G around - a great invention, whoever you are. He can replace Chico.

Actually, some of the old timers may recall (on the older and much better notice board before this one came kicking and screaming in to the world) that Xog's masterplan (or one of them at least), was to send any army of slugs to Number 10 Downing Street and devour Tony Blair alive.

It would bear evidence that this latest slug plague is the fruit of his endeavours.

Having taken 4+ years to get to Number 10, they have successfully routed Tony Blair, (shame they didn't get to do the devouring) and now are effectively "de-mobbed" and out of a job.

I expect the slimy little blighters will be signing on at the Dole Office next and increasing our taxes even further.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

More slugs is just EXCELLENT news. Provided they don't all turn to crime. There is also very recent news of more mosquitos, arrival of the Tiger mosquito that can carry Dengue Fever and the Portugeuse Man Of War in the UK. Possibly even a great white of course.

In these cases immigrants really are an asset, it has long been a source of British shame that we have no decently lethal animals.

Why do all these creatures want to come here all of a sudden?

I saw on the BBC last night that some Redbacks stowed away in someone's luggage from Australia.
