If somone is not paying the correct amount of taxation then other law-abiding tax payers end up having to pay more, and that isn't fair.

Measures have been put in place to make it easier for the public to report any concerns of criminal activity in respect of taxation either by using the helpline or submitting a report via the website http://www.taxevasionhotline.co.uk

Reports from the public are more efficient at identifying criminals than routine investigations.

At the end of the day, people are doing a lot worse things.

You people would be first to grass someone up for dodging a bit of tax but I bet you would tulip your pants if you had to stop some theif mugging someone.

As I said a grass is a pretty low thing to be. If you want revenge then be a man and do it face to face, dont be a coward and grass them up behind their back.

It's pretty obvious isn't it? The Government are evil and greedy so they will take as much as they can get regardless of whether they need it. As socialists they believe they can reduce poverty simply by taxing the rich more - it's all about fairness. Therefore tax avoiders don't increase anyone else's taxes.

However, less money floating around will mean they will concentrate on things they feel are essential (MPs allowances for example) and save money they might otherwise have spent on non-essential projects (like killing babies in Iraq).

HTH. Anything else you don't understand?

A guy did me over in a business deal a few years ago. It cost me a lot of money. Now it look pretty obvious he is committing some tax fraud and I'd like to make sure that the right people notice.

My point, Noddy, is that in the real world, marching up to folk and "having it out" can result in one's next of kin being asked by doctors if they'd assent to one's bits and pieces being packed in ice and sent to various hospitals across the country.

I would have thought you would be in favour - the more genuine cases they are investigating, the less they have to investigate people with valid expenses which might be perceived (by HMRC) as taxable.
