I'm starting to get very annoyed with the Muslim community for "seeming" to not be doing very much about these acts of terrorism. After all, it's effecting them more than us - they have the same threat of being bombed as "us whites" do, but they also have to suffer the stigma of being involved and the backlash of the non muslim community around them.
They must be sh*tting bricks at the moment to put it mildly, so why aren't they on the telly up in arms about their stupid extremist cousins? Why aren't we all pulling together in this?! The muslim community seem to be being very quiet.
I'll tell you something that shocked me - I caught myself over the weekend thinking for a split second "lets get rid of all Muslims - that'll make the problem go away". It was only a split second...but it was still there.
If I had those thoughts...me, a complete non racist person...then I really fear for the state of this country and what will happen if these random bombings continue.
And more over, what will happen if the wedge between the muslim and non muslim community gets any bigger.
I "understand" the radical viewpoint of some on this board, and in the country....I understand that it is not only enforced by decades of passed down racism, but it is also now driven by current everyday fear. We're all scared of being bombed....of course we are.
But I reckon I'm a little more scared of what we might become, as a country and as people, if we dont start fighting this together. We will only win this when the muslim and non muslim communities come together and start fighting back....together.
Any other alternative will be worse than a few bombs.
Islamic extremists need to be shown by the world that we are living in a world where people can get along regardless of their faith. We all need to change - simple as that. It's the only way forward.
