    Contractor Career's Advice

    Hi

    This is serious now.

Where does one get knowledge and support from contractors who are greatly experienced? Especially, where do contractors go if they are in need of one-to-one and face-to-face advice?

    Cheers!

In my limited experience: From fellow contractors on site, PCG & here.

Knowledge about what ?? Dating Issues? Work issues? BO issues? Worried about your sexuality (If so SA is prolly best person to talk to, I think she's a wannabe fag hag )

But a bit of clarification would be useful

Is the thread title not specific enough for you?

And most contractors do not recognise "Career" as an objective, it's one of the thing you give up when you step out of permiedom. Hence the slight disconnect when trying to answer your original question. So, for one example, a progrrammer may get more and more complex and senior roles in development, but stepping across into pure management is not the same obvious progression as it is in Permieworld; nobody takes on a contractor manager who hasn't already been one

The choice is either how far do you develop your existing skillset, or what other areas do you need to move into as your skillset becomes increasingly redundant (as they invariably do). And for that you need to ask your peer group, as previously suggested.
              Blog? What blog...?

So what would one call it when one reaches 65 retirement year?

Would you not say that I made a career out of IT contracting?

No, I'd say that you had worked as a contractor all your working life. That's not what "career" means. Unless you just careered through life without looking!

                    No.

You made a business out of IT contracting.

                    Next.
