Why is the debate about how much tax we pay in comparison to other countries. Shoild not the debate be about what is done with the tax?Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone -
Firstly the tax is not spent in improving the country it is spent to advance the power base of those who run the country.Originally posted by SallyAnneIt makes me feel like I'm contributing something to the country.
It makes me know that I genuinely AM contributing something to the country.
The more tax I pay, the better I feel about myself.
Probably all sounds like utter tulipe to you lot, not that I give a toss.
The worse thing about people like you is that you think that by paying tax:
1. The social problems we have in this country are therefore someone elses problem
2. By not challenging how our tax is spent you are telling those people who squander our money to "just carry on as you are"
3. The only thing you care about is yourself and how you feel about yourself. The fact that we have 10,000 illiterate children coming out of schools each year to commit crimes and spend an entire life on welfare matters not a jot to people like you. You just pay taxes because some little socialist tells you it will be well spent is enough for people like you.
If you really cared about making the country a better place you would challenge these corrupt self interested socialists.
Me, I have a moral duty to deprive these tax squandering parasites of as much money as I can until they fulfil a contract to improve the lives of the very people that they pretend to help.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

Hear hear DA. Lefties love to represent the libertarian right as selfish and opposed to any distribution. Not so in most cases, personally, I am happy for some of what I earn to go to a street cleaner who is willing to go to work and make a reasonable effort.
What we disagree with is a overcomplex state system that creates disincentives to work with an ill thought out combination of tax and benefits, that does not seriously attempt to distinguish the deserving from the undeserving and requires massive expense in terms of overpaid civil servants.
If they just combined the NI and tax systems they could probably get rid of 100K employees from the HMRC and provide more for the lower paid. Considering how the rules have converged, not very difficult, so why don't they?
Because socialism is nothing to do with concern for the disadvantged only about the growth of the state and the benefit of those who work in it.bloggoth

Affluent middle class people who support the socialist tax model think that so doing gives them sort of moral integrity. In actual fact it has the opposite effect. It shows these people to be the incredibly selfish cowards that they truly are. By not questioning how tax is spent they essentially "do not care". They are paying money to sustain a liberal elite and a poor underclass who they believe should feel grateful for their patronage.
cowards because they dare not confront and deal with the day to day social problems themselves, choosing to stay detached in their middle class suburbs and absolving themselves from responsibility through payment of taxes.
If they are going to slavishly pay their taxes to support such an evil system then the least they can do is help clean up the mess when things go wrong. Asylum seekers this way please.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment
