It makes me know that I genuinely AM contributing something to the country.
The more tax I pay, the better I feel about myself.

Probably all sounds like utter tulipe to you lot, not that I give a toss.

I've worked with a sh*t load of them over the years, and I know the difference! And I'm not one.

You're absolutely right though - us lot should be taxed much much more than we are. It needs to be addressed, and I have faith in Gordon that he'll do just that.

Unlike you bunch of tory toffs, I believe in paying taxes, and I believe the rich should pay more than (and in a lot of cases pay FOR) the poor.

Bring it on Gordon - I welcome it.
Gordon would argue you use your comapny as a false structure to avoid paying your fair share. He would encourage you to pay more, so why don't you?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Despite your claims of being a true Northerner, I firmly believe you've never had the misfortune of mixing with the subhuman creatures that walk the streets in a not insignificant area of most Northern cities. Otherwise, you'd understand that the poor seem, for the most part, to be doing alright for themselves out of the welfare state already.

I'm not biting with that today.

But yes, I've certainly seen where the money goes, and it makes me quite proud.

              In part Sal, I agree.

I do think we, the more affluent (if only by luck like me, but even those who do it through damn hard work) should, in some cases pay for the poor. I truly do. I, personally, could not live with myself if I neglected the needs of a GENUINELY needy person.

FWIW, I also honestly believe that we should grant asylum to those GENUINELY in need, and provide for them until they become estableshed.

I do, however, resent to my very core, paying for the lay about, lazy b@stard, useless, Lacoste wearing, Nike shod, Elizabeth Duke gold adorned, baseball cap done up too tight and perched precariously but still stylishly sideways upon shaven tramlined head, Job Seekers Allowance claiming, dope smoking in front of daytime telly, shopping in Maccy D's, Booze Busters and JJB only, populous which we are currently supporting.

              Just my opinion though.

"No it wasn't - it was designed to catch contractors who are for all intents and purposes, employees."

Actually you are wrong on that - it was originally intended as a means of big companies forcing their employees out of employment and into ltd companies and in so doing losing their employent rights. Hence the friday to monday aspect of it. It was then hijacked by NL as a means of raising more tax.

"I've worked with a sh*t load of them over the years, and I know the difference! And I'm not one."

In what ways? So you have worked alongside sh*t loads but you are different.

"You're absolutely right though - us lot should be taxed much much more than we are. It needs to be addressed, and I have faith in Gordon that he'll do just that."

It is Gordon and chums which brought this and other measures in. How does that square with your faith in him?

"Unlike you bunch of tory toffs, I believe in paying taxes, and I believe the rich should pay more than (and in a lot of cases pay FOR) the poor."

But in Gordons eyes you are one of the people he considers to be tax avoiders. Have you submitted your contract to the IR for their considered thought on your IR35 status? If not, why not. I'm pretty sure, regardless of your opinion, they will consider you as being caught by ir35.

Bring it on Gordon - I welcome it.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                I preferred version 1!
