    Farewell ISPE Community Forum

I think there may still be a few IPSE members around here.

I see that the 'Community Forum' (not much used in recent years) is now closed to new posts although apparently there's some alternative online community available.

Discord, apparently. Wouldn't touch it myself - hasn't been compliant with GDPR in the past, for example.

Probably IPSE will go the same way as their forum, eventually. I am still a member, as they are still competitive for what they offer, but I wouldn't be sorry to see them go - will enjoy cancelling my membership when it eventually happens

that organisation has been living on borrowed time for a while.
I know there were some rumours circulating a while back.
This is probably a sign that things are beginning to shutter up.
For those wanting to enjoy cancelling membership, maybe you will find you just don't have it any more...
Discord hasn't had the best reputation in the past either.

I've been subscribing since PCG days but IPSE had to change to find new customers and had become irrelevant to me even before I became 'economically inactive'.

I'm simply using IPSE for run-off insurance and looking forward to cancelling in due course - unless they fold first, of course.

I'd never even heard of 'Discord' but looked at the website, T&Cs and decided 'no thanks'.

              Well, not by me.

I think that it's no more complicated than that once the IR35/Off-Payroll battle was lost, they became less relevant to many contractors and diversified to seek new customers from a wider base, which is entirely rational.

I joined the Discord a while ago but only because I already have it for other things. I don't use it and have all the channels muted. I don't think there was much engagement on it for the recent director elections.

While we can consider IR35 to be a lost war, the current version is at least capable of supporting an outside position with a lot less risk on the hiring side than previously. due in no small part to the work of Dave Chaplin.

However, we should not forget who lit the fire in the first place. They may have drifted into irrelevance, mostly due to OPW Mk 1, but their small corner in history is still assured.
