So they want them to restrict the description of "Single Malt" to Scotland only? A bit like complaining about "made with a cheddaring method" not being "Cheddar".

I would totally support being able to lock terms such as "Islay single Malt" or "Speyside single malt" or even "Single site Speyside single malt" as a protected designation. I can't see "Luton single Malt" being a winner though anything could happen.

Now where is that Penderyn or Suntory "foreign muck single malt"?

Laphroaig is horrible. Smells like TCP, tastes worse.

I'm not a whisk(e)y drinker anyway so you can all keep that muck to yourselves and I'll stick with the gin and rum

Must admit I love the West coast whiskies, and Laphroaig is one of my favourites. However, try a gentler East cost one like Edradour and you may be pleasantly surprised. but stay away from blends, they are beneath contempt!
