    Fancy a free degree theory?

Did anyone see this recently or has taken one out.

Seems a lot of oldies are now taking out student loans to do Degrees or Masters as a lifestyle choice. As you have to earn a certain amount to qualify for paying it back, there has been a bit of a loop hole where older people can take these out and primarily never earn enough to pay it off.

When you die the loan is written off and does not pass on.

What do you fancy studying? :-)

You might be able to claim carers allowance for all the LL's you entertain

My wife knows someone who is doing this. She's entertained the idea of doing it herself in 2-3 years when she is planning to retire in her mid-50s.

There was a similar wheeze until a few years ago where you could get finance for an MBA through the apprenticeship levy co-funding arrangement with the government. They cracked down on that so MBAs are no longer eligible AFAIK but then some business schools found a way round it.

They introduced a Level 7 Leadership Apprenticeship course which still adhered to the rules. Then upon completion, students could do a top up course to convert their level 7 qualification into an MBA, and voila!
