From declaring a border emergency to backing fossil fuel production, British voters have supported a raft of Donald Trump's policies in a blind polling test.

Some 2,000 voters were asked for their thoughts about the US President's views on migration, the environment and diversity - without being told they were his policies.

Those being surveyed by polling firm Opinium were questioned on excerpts from Mr Trump's inauguration speech in Washington DC last Monday, adapted for the UK.

I must admit I don't see the point to this? These policies could apply to any country and people are only going to vote on their thoughts on that policy. Not sure if the Trump element makes an iota of difference. I very much most of the 2k people asked have a clue what's going on in the USA to tailor their votes to the problems over there? Or have I read it wrong?

I don't think this tells us anything we didn't already know does it?

That said, I think if they opened that up to more than 2k people covering all demographics in the UK some of those numbers would rise sharply. I think I read somewhere that highly educated people were less likely to vote so more representation of angry people in voting so expand that 2k and you are going to get a disproportionate view in some areas, propably immigration for a start.

The questions are weasel words. I remember Camelot increasing the price of the lottery tickets because that asked the public "do you want bigger prizes?".
You could ask office workers "do you want more space to work in" and then claim 99% of workers voted for redundancies.
