Once you've been applying for asylum of 12 months, and it's not a delay due to you, there is a list of jobs you can sign up for. So there we have it, approved asylum seekers can work and after 12 months many awaiting approval can work. And do.
But you know this. As I said, you're just trolling.
With regards to your figure of 20000 I assume you're referring to the 20000 that were accepted as part of the "Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme" and not the ~8000 who have crossed the channel illegally since 2020?Old Greg - In search of acceptance since Mar 2007. Where is the bile and misinformation?
If you want an honest discussion drop the ad hominem and grow up.
There was no ad hominem… it's was an accurate description of the general theme of the comments you make
And when challenged you come back telling people to grow up or stfu rather than engaging in an honest discussion

You started the thread with hateful comments about people who'd fled a war zone in a country that's been ruled by tyrants for the last 50 years, where imprisonment, rape, torture and death were common for people who held differing views to the regime
I called your comments out for what they were and not once have you engaged with that criticism in a genuine wayComment

In fact, please highlight the comments which you feel to be "Hateful" and cause you such offence.Last edited by Zigenare; 9 December 2024, 14:59.Old Greg - In search of acceptance since Mar 2007. Hoping each leap will be his last.Comment

Reports of "So long and thanks for the benefits" notes left nailed to the front doors of rental houses may be an exageration.Comment

If you don't want your comments to be criticised as hateful then don't rollout racist tropes implying refugee's from an active war zone are just here for the benefitsLast edited by Andy2022; 9 December 2024, 16:22.Comment

What could possibly be the attraction, knowing that they have travelled through numerous other safe territories, why risk their lives again to cross one of the busiest seaways in the world? What is there in the UK that makes them take that risk if not accommodation, money, healthcare, education and very little chance of being sent back to their own country?
The proof of the pudding will be in the eating, if as you are saying that they were fleeing a war torn country then now that the threat has gone there's no reason for the majority of them to stay.
