            I still use an ancient Sony alarm clock radio that only does AM/MW/FM and doesn't even have battery back up to maintain the settings during a power cut.

                    We have one of those. It's at least 30 years old now and still works fine. Terrible business model!

                      A useful old techy thing you can't get in the UK is a plain old stick on car compass, handy when you're just not sure where to go on some little country road junction and it's not worth digging out the satnav. Those electronic compasses have screens with time and temperature etc that you don't need.
