Britain touted as future ‘associate member’ of EU

“Britain could rejoin the European Union as an “associate member” under plans for the bloc’s expansion drawn up by France and Germany.

The UK would be expected to contribute to the EU’s annual budget and be governed by the European Court of Justice in exchange for “participation” in the bloc’s single market.

The plan will be officially unveiled on Tuesday afternoon as Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, meets Emmanuel Macron, the French president, in Paris.

Sir Keir has said he would prioritise getting “a much better deal for the UK” as part of a review of the post-Brexit trade deal, due in 2025, if he wins the next election.”

”Membership fees would be lower than usual contributions by full members but would result in “lower benefits”, such as no access to the EU’s common agricultural fund.”

Don't worry SucKier will join as an associate, pay the £350 million a week to buy quality horsemeat, agree to take 100,000 illegal migrants fleeing Calais, free movement to force wages down so pay for the ascension states to become viable and bail out Germany then leave a note for the new conservative chancellor saying "we not only have no money left we have mortgaged everything"

You reckon Sir Keir can do a Corbyn go cuddle some terrorists and declare he wouldn't press the big red button so labour become unelectable?

Unlike Corbyn, he's not that stupid. A left-wing Eurocentric opportunist is a more realistic description, carefully hiding his true credentials in the interests of getting elected. Then we will see the real Starmer.

He keeps making serious and/or naïve mistakes. I still consider a minority Labour win at the next election to be the best bet. The electorate aren't really as stupid as some politicians believe.
