So you agree he's a scumbag. You're making progress. Well done!
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation! -
What? Are you serious? He is very likely heading to prison.Originally posted by JustKeepSwimming View Post
He has been trending alt right/conspiracy theory for last few years. He will be fine. Short of criminal conviction and prison, he will be fine grifting a living.Comment

Still doesn't make sense. If the sex was consensual why did she say he scared the tulip out of her? So you might argue she meant she was scared afterwards finding the lack of condom. Ok, then explain how that fits with the 'Do you know how scary you are when the glaze look comes over you'. It doesn't fit. Why mention the glaze look unless it related to that incident? Why mention it if it was all consensual other than the condom?Originally posted by Fraidycat View Post
Her allegation is that he raped her up against a wall that day, the text messages make no mention of that. Why did she not write "You bastard you raped me up against the wall today".
Instead she ends the message with 'I'm so disappointed'.
Brands version could be, the sex was consensual on him using a condom, 'but i was scumbag and i didn't put one on'. And i apologised after for being so selfish. The text messages would not contradict his version of events.
What does a glaze look mean to you?
That's far from certain. Mendy, Spacey, Greenwood. All people with credible allegations against them, all not convicted.Originally posted by mogga71 View Post

Obviously more people might come forward, but considering how much effort apparently went into this investigation and they only found 4 willing to talk, even anonymously, isn't promising.

AIUI consent was based on a condom being worn. He clearly didn't so he is guilty of rape according to the law.
Finally they have it in writing so bye bye scumbag if she actually complains to the police.
Remember the requirement is "Beyond reasonable doubt" so if they can get a verified copy of that exchange I won't have to see the slimeball on the telly soon except in cuffs.Comment

As Fraidycat pointed out, stealthing has long fallen under rape in the UK due to it voiding informed consent, in the US its not the case. California, where I think this happened, it was only in the last few years it was criminalised. I don't however think that is why she saying she was raped.Originally posted by vetran View PostAIUI consent was based on a condom being worn. Regardless of what happens, he won't be appearing on TV on anything other than the news ever again.Originally posted by vetran View PostRemember the requirement is "Beyond reasonable doubt" so if they can get a verified copy of that exchange I won't have to see the slimeball on the telly soon except in cuffs.Comment

YouTube have suspended his money making from his account.
https://www.theguardian.com/culture/...venues-channel
YouTube has suspended Russell Brand’s revenues from his channel on the platform following allegations of rape and sexual assault in a massive hit to his finances.
The video-sharing and social media site said it had suspended Brand’s channel from the YouTube Partner Program following serious allegations against Brand, meaning his videos are no longer able to monetise on the platform.
Reason for suspension is:
YouTube’s creator responsibility guidelines state that if a creator’s off-platform behaviour harms users, employees, or ecosystem, the platform may take action to protect our community, including by suspending monetisation.Last edited by SueEllen; 19 September 2023, 07:31."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Netflix show has been pulled.
BBC have pulled any programme with him in.
Fired by his agent.
His tour has been cancelled.
Like I said, he's pretty much dead in anything remotely approaching mainstream. He will continue to stream on kick and the like.Comment

the bar of proof is quite high for rape/sexual assault. So he may well avoid prison. But seeing as he has a few million in the bank I expect some civil suits in USA.
His wife may well divorce him to save her half of the money. Potentially without any malice as I'm pretty sure she has a rough idea what he is/was like.
