I notice Chris Bryant hasn't repeated the Russian allegation outside of Parliamentary privilege, I wonder why? Didn't Cadwalladr get spanked in the courts by Arron Banks for similar allegations.

Bank account decisions should NOT be based a persons politics or more generally views that they don't like; for all the socialist ******* free speech is essential to a healthy democracy; careful what you wish for.

The decision was made on Farage's lack of funds. Natwest is happy to have him as a customer but he doesn't want to use a bank "normal" people can get accounts with.

Was it made on lack of funds? NatWest was offered after he went public.

I wonder if your views would be the same if a public person you supported had their bank account cancelled.

Like Farage, I was dumped by Coutts for being too poor He swore it was a conspiracy, but the former Ukip leader just didn't have enough funds in his account – something I’m all too familiar with

For several days we were led to believe there were dark forces at work. The closing down of Nigel Farage’s bank account at Coutts suggested sinister goings-on, not least because Farage himself, former leader of Ukip, presenter at GB News, pointed to a conspiracy. In a six-minute video he talked of an anti-Brexit banking industry imposing upon him “political persecution”. Losing his bank account was like being labelled a “non-person”. The poor fellow was being driven into exile by a cabal of anonymous enemies in the shadows. Think Napoleon, Casanova, the Dalai Lama …

Its interesting a number of people are saying they have accounts with funds under this limit.

its also interesting that people are defending the bank because its been suggested that farage was the recipient of 500k of Russian money. And the bank has to act on the news around farage.

Either way its worrying and a proper investigation should be made to ensure banks are not acting in an improper manner. After all we know banks aren’t competent.

Banks change the rules on you depending on when you became a customer.

Around 2005 I had two current accounts with one financial institution and they both had different terms and conditions.

Interesting how the foaming at the mouth lefties amongst the forum members have already formed their opinion, steared no doubt by their inability to wait for and assimilate factual evidence.

Perhaps the report will be made public...
