No, they were arrested for breaching the new law about attaching yourself to something to cause an obstruction of some kind. If you are too dim to see that coming then its your own silly fault and you should have stuck with simple placards like the group in Trafalgar Square. Who were being totally ignored...

They were also protesting at the wrong place to the wrong people but that's their prerogative.

I did watch it when I got home from the hairdresser. Well, just the bits that interested me.

Don't worry tomorrow you can watch a 2 hour concert for the coronation.

            That's not what happened.

Really? Citation required. I'm just going off the BBC reports and interviews so they are clearly wrong...

Posting an unqualified rebuttal is even more pointless than taking luggage straps to a heavily proected occasion for a protest.

Again, without context that is meaningless to anyone outside Westminster.

I suppose it depends on your starting point. If you believe that occasionally action is needed to prevent something bad happening (I know, define "bad") then the police are correct. If you believe that the police are actually a fascist unit dedicated to suppressing anything that doesn't align to their own right wing credo, then everything they do is wrong.

Given this is the Met, I suspect the reality is somewhere in the middle. But as soon as you start trotting out trite sound bites like "Tory Run Press" then all credibility disappears in a puff of hubris.

I got in very soon afterwards.

One of the people I spent the day with was on their 5th monarch with one being Edward VIII.
