I was watching Politics Live and Isabella Oakeshott was talking over her at every opportunity, in a rude and arrogant way and the BBC presenter was rather ineffectual at chairing the encounter.
I would have told the woman to shut up as well."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Send all the politicians into a Roman style arena to fight to the death! I might watch the news then.bloggoth

I know what you mean but she is campaigning for bringing back civility to politics, it was a really good opportunity to show an example and how to deal with someone like that. Perhaps we could all have had a learning momentOriginally posted by cojak View PostI was watching Politics Live and Isabella Oakeshott was talking over her at every opportunity, in a rude and arrogant way and the BBC presenter was rather ineffectual at chairing the encounter.

I would settle for them having to go back to their constituencies on a 6 months basis and say what they have achieved and what they plan on achieving in the next 6 months... in a roman style arena.. with the odd battle axe lying around.Originally posted by xoggoth View PostSend all the politicians into a Roman style arena to fight to the death! Though I've only ever had one completely useless MP. He did absolutely nothing and only got in because everyone was voting for Bliar at the time."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Considering we've had more than one MP murdered in their own constituency I would suggest that your comment - admittedly not as vapid as usual, is rather ill-thought out.Originally posted by woohoo View Post

If you want civility in politics then you make MPs answer questions, not just provide the soundbites they want to say. That applies inside and outside the HoC.
But the same level of civility needs to be shown by interviewers as well.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
