Interesting video on British Gang & Drug culture

Much of what he says makes sense.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

It is due to the breakdown of the family and the state encouraging single mothers to have more kids..

Plus the justice system being soft on criminals.

Definitely factors but he did suggest there was a feeling of alienation and hopelessness which made grooming easier.

Sadly these people are different to much of the law abiding people how do we encourage them to join the majority?

You should ask the old Tory Party about that. In the 90s they were very good at creating single families.

On a more serious note there are people like Akala who will explain what the issues are and have some ideas on solutions.

I don't think there is that much alienation and hopelessness at age 13, that comes a bit later on when you cant find work..
But growing up in poverty really sucks as i know only too well. It has got to be even harder these days, when so many more kids at school have designer tulip and £1000 iPhones, while your parent(s) struggle with the basics.

Plenty of ex criminals, police and care home workers testify that county lines (and cosa nostra) kids are low level associates by 13. Those groomed are normally of secondary school age and at risk of expulsion. They are actively groomed but instead of trying to sexually abuse them (though many are to please the other gang members) they want to put a machete and baggys of crack in their hands or orifices. Remember Rap and Drill culture is constantly making their future look bleak inside the law and exciting when they join the gang.

One of my good friends at school was sent to Borstal for Twocking at 13. You can see I went to a proper school where teenage pregnancies and violence were common.

It is an education issue - you are poor, in care and probably black (not essential but the stats suggest its more common) but you are OK and worthwhile not cannon fodder for drug dealers.

Oddly enough in the video the ex banger suggested that the C level managers in drug dealing weren't black or street level. If you look at the recent arrests of top drug dealers they were mainly white so suggesting its a wholly any ethnicity crime is false.

County lines gangs also target middle class white children in suburban and slightly more rural areas as they need teens who don't stick out from the locals.

This stuff is easy to find out if you don't know people who deal with it e.g. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...nty-lines.html

                totally its insidious.

We need to do something about this.

Odd that you weren't bothered when you thought it was only working class youth, regardless of ethnicity, who were involved. (The ethnicity involved depends on the town and area in a city.)

Clearly if the higher ups are middle class folk they are going push those lower down to recruit from a wide enough circle to keep their money rolling in.

Legalising drugs means the police would have to spend more time chasing the higher ups than the small fry. Though the police would have a problem when they find out who some if the higher ups are.
