    I don't think this is a bad idea TBF. DUnno about Mercs but the acceleration on Teslas is insane and way beyond what your average driver is used to so selling a dumbed down version seems to make sense. Must be a better way of marketing it than it being more expensive even though you aready own it. Maybe 1100 quid off if you don't get the extra power. Will appeal to a lot more people then.

        Sounds like a few quid can be made by reverse engineering the protocol. Create a "man-in-the-middle" and switch everything on!
