In April, 35 per cent of the panel thought Boris Johnson should resign as Conservative leader, 58 per cent didn’t and seven per cent didn’t know.

Last month, in the wake of Sue Gray’s report, those figures were 41 per cent, 53 per cent and six per cent.

Today, in answer to a different question to the same end – we asked the panel directly if Tory MPs should vote to remove Johnson – 55 per cent say yes, 41 per cent no and three per cent don’t know.

The Pound is rallying against the Euro and US dollar after it was announced a vote of confidence in Boris Johnson would go ahead.

Sterling rose 0.6% to 1.26 US dollars and 0.4% to 1.17 euros.

Financial expert Victoria Scholar said the UK’s economy ‘could get a boost and reverse some of the recent negativity’ if the PM loses.

‘The pound will be closely watched this evening, with above average volatility expected around tonight’s decision,’ the head of investment at interactive investor said.

I don't think he will lose but hopefully he is holed below the waterline and his enemies will leak more of the sleaze they have in their back pockets to force him out in utter disgrace.
