I think he will too, it's noticeable that there has been zero support (other than ministers) from other MP's that to me shows that there are a lot of people who will look to make a deal for his support.Originally posted by malvolio View Post
Equally likely him winning might help. The real man int the street has far bigger things to concern himself with than the outfall of the Partygate nonsense and the machinations of a rag tag bundle of newbies, malcontents and has-beens.

Wakefield wouldn't be a shock, it would appear they're already resigned to losing. The other one (the Devon tractor-porn by-election) would be a massive shock, they have a 24k+ majority and the LibDems are all over it, and some Labour figures have been telling their supporters to vote LibDem. I've got family down that way, and they all think the Tories are going to get a kicking.Originally posted by Gibbon View PostYeah, the Tory polling in the upcoming Wakefield by-election is appalling and mainly because of lies and party gate, he is toast imho, Unless somehow gets a thumping majority.
If the Tory back-benchers were serious about getting rid of Bozzer, they ought to have waited until those by-election results were in, because he would be finished. By holding the confidence vote today, they've given him every chance of hanging on.His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...Comment

He should do, but people are motivated by bitterness and resentment much more than logic.Originally posted by malvolio View Post

That isn't what was reported in The Sunday Times yesterday where the majority of those those reported as defecting from Con to Lab in the Wakefield by-election cited the parties and lies as the primary reason.Originally posted by malvolio View Post

20-30 votes is not enough to maintain authority, ask Teresa.
