So you think it's Ok that 99.9% of African's have zero benefit from the natural resources that are extracted from their land? Land that was stolen from them by colonial countries and land now 'owned' by foreign companies?

You think the UK should have control of our borders and land, and yet you don't seem to think the same should be the case for African nations and its residents....... interesting

How's that progressing with South Africa and every other corrupt tin-pot dictatorship in Africa?

Ah, that would be the South Africa that was run by colonialists for 200 years, and the land was taken from the natives and now 99.99% of the natives have nothing, not even basic health care, because the land and resources are held by non-native nationals/companies (DeBeers ring a bell?)

Take a look at most of these 'tin pot' countries as you call them, and the majority of their issues were caused by colonial land grab and taking of the natural resources from the rightful owners.

              What a load of bollocks.

That would be the same Africa that warred amongst itself for millenia selling the captive enemy to anyone who would pay as slaves? Or the one the chinese are now buying for peanuts?

Now as to colonisation you might want to have a little peek at African history and note the Africans were hardly slouches at conquering other countries like Egypt?

Obviously the Beeb is wrong as usual it places many of the African kingdoms converting to colonies in the 1890s Just after the British ended the lucrative African approved slave trade.

You know Cecil Rhodes purchased the diamond mines from Dutch Farmers (hence De Beers) who had discovered diamonds on the land they had settled? I suppose Royal Dutch Shell can be seen as colonists for having north sea oil interests, maybe we can claim reparations?

People were tulipty to each other long before the British ruled the waves.

Just like the millenia (sic) that the Europeans warred amongst itself ..... you do realise that 'Africa' is a continent and not a single country don't you?

You also understand that the reason the Chinese can buy land etc for peanuts is because the natives have nothing as they had it all stolen from them by colonial powers?

You do realise that Egypt is on the African continent don't you? You do realise that the Egyptians were not adverse to a little conquering of their own don't you? As many countries have done over the centuries.

Deflection. No one apart from you is talking about the slave trade. This is about colonialism. Nice try though fella.

So Rhodes purchased land that had been stolen from the natives? Good on him. His conscience is clear then. Phew. Well spotted fella. But fella, the land was stolen - the natives lived on that land and the settlers had no right to take it.

You do realise that when we talk about colonial conquests, we're not just talking about the British, but all the other nations too who carved up Africa and stole it's resources?

land has been stolen since the first human walked the earth.

I look forward to seeing the deeds of sale that prove the land belonged to the particular africans the dutch moved.

Colonialism lasted for a 100 years, slavery and land grabs have been forever.

Yes the Africans, Arabs, Portuguese, spanish etc carved up africa but they only want reparations from the British & americans the rest laughed in their face.

Ah, I see ... because they didn't have European style land deeds, but instead relied upon their own cultural norms, then it's ok to just take their land? I assume you think it's ok the native North American and Australians also lost their lands in the same way?

                    Theft is theft mate.

Again, stop deflecting, it's only you talking about slavery. This thread is about land grabs.

Nice victim blaming there ... blame the African's for the carving up of their continent and nations. Maybe the below map will give you a clearer picture of how foreign nations stole Africa (not any Arab countries there) (20th century - yes it started before that, but this is the race for Africa.).

No one is saying the UK was the worst (or the best), that's all in your little Wail brain.
