I see dead people - well I would if they had lights on!

Private e-scooters will be legalised for use on British roads under new laws to be unveiled next month, suggests Transport Secretary Grant Shapps
    • Grant Shapps says laws concerning e-scooters will be announced on 10 May
    • The Transport Secretary hints he will legalise private e-scooters for use on roads
    • It is currently illegal to ride a private e-scooter anywhere that is not private land

I wonder if they will report separate KSI figures or just blame drivers as usual?

So would they be effectively treated as cyclists or something else?

Round here the problem is people zooming about on quad-bikes and "nuisance bikes" which I think are dirt-bikes(?) which are unlicensed and unsilenced. Very very loud but at least you can hear them coming (from a mile away).

Has anyone here got an e-scooter or maybe one of those 1-wheel things? I must say they seem kind of neat.

I would suggest they should be treated more like 50cc motorcycles and require working lights & registration. Riding a ev scooter while intoxicated will and should affect your driving license.

Not sure they should be allowed on the pavement though possibly cycle lanes.

Round here its racing traps you come round the corner and someone flying towards you in a little horse drawn buggy on the wrong side of the road as he is overtaking his mate. Muppets!

The only good thing about them is that they are bad for going over pot holes.

If they're being treated like bicycles, then that will be the case.

Definitely double seat Sulkys, single / double horses.

They are 'Gentleman' tarmac'ers of the road. Normally a heavy Irish accent and a mouth full of invective. Apparently their being the wrong side of the road on a blind bend is your fault "yer feckin ****!!!!"

We have a few permanent caravan sites around Sluff. They even rock up by the castle.

We do have a few on quads or scooters with the plates ripped off.
