    Yes - existing graduates too.

My education was totally free. No fees for courses. I'm 52 so anyone my age or above had it all free and yet we set the rules now crippling the younger generation.

Was your SL for living costs, or course fees? Not all loans are just for course fees are they, don't they also cover living costs? Could be wrong, I'm an old chap and with no kids it's not something that really impacts me so I could just shut my mouth and be happy that I'll never have to be lumbered with the costs or pay anything extra

I think the course fees should be free.

I don't set any rules. And they could of course not go to university.

I do pay a graduate tax anyway. Anyone who earns more off the back of a university education does. It's called income tax... if you earn more you pay more. What's fairer than that

Unless you split dividends with your spouse, pay them to be 'company secretary' or engage in any number of efficiencies to lower your tax burden...

Good reductive argument there. a)that's a small proportion of people b)people without degrees can work through a Ltd too - many tradesmen do. If you are a high earner, even as a contractor, you are still paying a big chunk of tax one way or another.

How do you get a degree for $20k in the US? I thought it was 10X that, and the rest if you went somewhere good.

sort of the point, if it had been in maths she would have a job probably.
