I'll have to dig the dvd out of the pile & watch it again.
Still great IMO. I do seem to recall the chap who it's loosely based around was rather unpleasant.

The problem with incredible people is that they frequently are rather unpleasant.

I was watching "the lore" earlier and the chap who pioneered the occipital lobotomy desperately wanted to leave a legacy of fixed mental patients. He was hardly a nice guy.

Kellog was worried about the youth going blind etc.

I saw a Lidl advert about a banana who hates Christmas. Is that their official ad or just a preliminary on?

Ahh it's Aldi who have the banana but they haven't released their ad.

              Oh, sorry my mistake. Thanks.

There was definitely an ad actually on TV but I guess now they have adverts and trailers for their adverts.

Tesco Christmas ad: 1,500 complain over Santa with Covid vaccine passport

Tesco’s festive TV ad featuring Santa Claus bearing a Covid vaccine passport has prompted more than 1,500 complaints, making it the most complained-about advert of the year.

The advert, titled “This Christmas, Nothing’s Stopping Us”, shows the public determined to enjoy a proper Christmas with family and friends after lockdown restrictions prevented gatherings last year.

However, in one scene a reporter appears on TV with “breaking news” telling viewers that “Santa could be quarantined”. Father Christmas is then shown presenting his Covid pass at border control, proving he has been vaccinated to a customs officer so he can enter the country without restriction. Most of the complaints made to the UK advertising regulator state the scene is coercive and encourages medical discrimination.

Does he wear a mask? Does it show him changing his FaceBook profile picture to "I've had my COVID vaccine?"

Apparently not, in fact nobody is following government advice to wear a mask, even on the jam-packed plane where I thought they were required.

So, the JL ad is offensive because some see it as a reference to grooming. The Tesco ad is offensive because it talks about a mythical man having to show a QR code.
Sainsbury's was in trouble for their Christmas ad last year because it featured a black family.

Is there any way to create an advert that won't offend the easily offended those who call everyone else "woke"?
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

You're a bit triggered by this whole 'woke' thing it seems

I hadn't seen the JL ad getting slammed for grooming. It does feature a non-consensual kiss of a minor I suppose.
