Seemed reasonable, which probably means all the bad stuff is in the small print.
Can't see that much on a quick glance of the small print which is at Autumn Budget and Spending Review 2021: documents - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

No need to be unkind. Like Ed Miliband she was thrown into do the response at the last minute.

Unlike Ed Miliband, she sounds nervous.

I don't mind being called on her being nervous - it sounds as if they only knew about an hour beforehand she had to do it.
But when you've criticised Rishi's voice, isn't it a tad hypocritical to say I'm being unkind criticising hers?

I suppose it's the job when responding to the Budget to sound very very negative but quips about millionaires drinking sparking wine on short-haul flights seem like she's reaching and bitter, especially when you consider help for pubs, brewers and hospitality is going to be hugely popular.

It's a difficult job identifying things to complain about (and make a joke out of) when you only have the speech to work from.

Responding to a budget is about the hardest job in politics. Even if you are third to speak you get a chance to search for things to comment on but the actual paperwork is only published after the Chancellor sits down.

It's probably even harder when/if some of the things might be half-decent. I suppose then you get the "stealing our ideas" option though.

To be fair the figures look a lot better than I expected.

Dishi Rishi seems to have avoided a melt down.

I feel sorry for those contractors who had to make their spouses redundant when they were forced inside IR35 - that tax free allowance paid for a couple of ski holidays per year.

Actually, apparently they really do from hearing people who've met him talk. Some sort of magnetism that clearly doesn't come across on camera!
