"The electicity consumed by Bitcoin in a year could power the entire UK for 5 months."

      But don't worry because

"it serves probably 100x the number of people who live in the UK" [100x 65 million = 6.5 billion]

Bitcoin’s green problem could pose an existential threat

Bitcoin fanatics really are in a bit of denial.
Scoots still says that Apr 2020 didn't mark the start of a new stock bull market.

Bitcoin is picking up momentum once again, topping $60,000 for the first time amid optimism that the largest digital token will achieve wider adoption.

The cryptocurrency was at 60,012 as of 12:22 p.m. London time, bouncing back from a rout at the end of February following a previous peak set that month. It’s benefiting from optimism in financial markets after President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion pandemic-relief bill into law.

The way things go the entire UK can be bought for a bitcoin in 5 months.

This is true, I read in the Guardian that the UK economy has collapsed and trade with the EU has effectively stopped.

A bitcoin will buy freedom from tyranny and citizenship in a developed country.

to tackle global warming, major step should be taken by the UN, by banning bitcoin. They are consuming 130 terawatts of energy

Which is 0.5% of total worldwide electricity consumption. (And nearly half of UK consumption)

Over the past 5 years, bitcoin's consumption has approximately doubled every year. If that trend were to continue:

                      2021: 0.5%
                      2022: 1%
                      2023: 2%
                      2024: 4%
                      2025: 8%
                      2026: 16%
                      2027: 32%
                      2028: 64%

At some point, something has to change or give (or break!).
