Even if this was a man made, weaponised virus, it doesn't change the fact that at some point a virus or bacteria will arise naturally that will greatly disrupt normal life.

Research at the Wuhan Lab was to develop corona viruses in order to be a few steps ahead of nature and so develop vaccines prior to any natural outbreaks. Much of the development was sponsored by Dr Peter Daszak of the EcoHealth Alliance
      https://www.ecohealthalliance.org/pe...r-peter-daszak

After the covid-19 outbreak, Dr Peter Daszak was the first to write an article in The Lancet stating that it was impossible for a virus to escape from the Wuhan Lab and it must of occurred naturally and these are "conspiracy theories" . Contrary to the rules of The Lancet, Daszak did not disclose his financial and professional interest in the Wuhan Lab. Daszak also volunteered to be on the WHO investigation team visiting the Wuhan Lab. The WHO were limited to a three hour visit.

Dr Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance has been revealed to have funnelled money into research into coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology until funding was blocked by US authorities on safety grounds.

The National Institutes of Health said its $3.7 million (£2.8 million) grant to EcoHealth Alliance would be restored only if outside experts could establish whether staff had the Covid virus “in their possession” prior to December 2019.

Daszak's conflict of interest should have been disclosed. However, it really has no bearing on whether there was an escape or not. - except for increasing suspicion. Think about it:

What reasons could lie behind Daszak's failure to disclose?
        1. He lied and knew it was man-made and has escaped
        2. He was telling the truth but didn't want people to know because it weakens the credibility of his findings.

Of course option 2 doesn't rule out the possibility he was wrong.

Anyway, Daszak is one scientist. One scientist does not a consensus make. All that's changed is that the chances of it actually being artificial have risen. The current state of play concerning covid-19's origins remains "Yes, it could be man-made, it could have come from Wuhan lab, but most likely it arose naturally.".

They would have known from day one it came from the lab, but that is not really the main issue. The media ran with the story that you were a gurning lunatic if you gave any credence to the possibility it came from the lab. There was a 'scientific consensus' it came from bats...

Coronavirus: False claims by politicians debunked - BBC News

This was all spread to discredit Trump, it removed creditability to the 'we are the victim' argument which was his strongest card. The intelligence services wanted him gone and the media, tech companies and science community all looked the other way while the population was told complete horsetulip.

Sadly we are worse off than the poor fookers in China, at least they know they are getting shafted.

You hit the nail on the head. Furthermore, the Chinese examined the animals in the Wuhan wet market, none had the virus. The WHO were only allowed to interview two market workers chosen by the Chinese authorities.

Daszak, was obviously very concerned that his name and his "charity" would be dragged in to the lab scandal hence why he quickly poo-pooed any suggestion that it could be a lab leak.

Why would they examine the animals from the market when they knew it came from the lab?

We were asked where we wanted to go. We gave our hosts a list ... and you can see from where we’ve been, we’ve been to all the key places,” Daszak said.

“Every place we asked to see, everyone we wanted to meet. ... So really good,” said the British-born zoologist, who is president of the NGO EcoHealth Alliance in New York City.

So basically the Chinese allowed the WHO investigators to interview anyone they wanted to.

Conspiracy theories. How stupid people get to feel intellectual. You can't argue with True Believers. Every fact is incorporated into their fantasy.

There's a project at Liverpool University, where part of a patient's pancreatic cancer will be genetically sequenced to suggest what drugs should be used to treat it. The cancer will also be cloned, so that the chosen drug can be tried in the lab first, before giving it to the patient. This is possible due to the technologies developed in response to covid-19. Blast those Chinese releasing the life saving pandemic on us...

That's from a FOI on Fauci's emails form last year, 3000 got released last night.

They are having discussions about how the virus looks man made. And how they made a version.

                      "They are having discussions" ????

This is simply an FOI that contains an email from a crazy anti-vaxxer (https://twitter.com/veryvirology) to Fauci.

                      Check his twitter bio

"I discovered the cure for COVID in Apr 2020 and I've been fighting to see it used since."

                      You're proving the statement above
