Can an echo "open" a web page? It accesses resources on the web but it doesn't display them for viewing. But, by reading out the content, i guess it's no different to screen reader software used by the visually impaired. Although a screen reader, from what I remember, will convert the displayed page into speech which is a subtle distinction.Comment

What is a web page these days? In the IoT this needn't be a visual page, but an address which is prefixed with http(s).I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. 9 if you include the ancient things, 2 XP laptops, a Win 2000 PC desktop and a Win CE tablet that I've never got round to chucking out. Maybe 10, I'll have to see if my Psion 5 still works.bloggoth

I know the XP laptop still works ok for browsing. About a year ago some idiot backed into the telegraph pole and I lost my phone & internet for a week. Just about managed to access the free BT WiFi with the laptop on the bedroom window sill.bloggoth

There's always VNC.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostYG1 has just embedded the Pi into one of these: SunFounder PiCar-S Raspberry Pi 4/3/2/B+ Smart Car Kit - RobotShop , so I've lost access to the HDMI port. But she's got her kid's Fire running a virtual desktop so she can still use the Pi, so it still counts. Much better than home schoolwork.
Agreed on the schoolwork topic!Comment
