I’d cancel your order if I were you and try and find a decent local nursery that you can visit and inspect the plants before purchase. I don’t even buy seeds from Thompson Morgan as they are generally overpriced.

They've mailed me today advising that the plant has been dispatched. HMV had seen an advert in the paper for the plant and hadn't seen one at our local Wyevale nursery.

Wyevale are a garden centre chain. Not necessarily bad but they aren't going to stock a wide range. You must have a proper nursery or specialist/independent garden centre somewhere near you? I'm in Essex and there are at least half a dozen garden centres (including a Wyevale) in a 10 mile radius and 3 specialist nurseries (including Beth Chatto gardens) a bit further out.
