        Their processors are jus no reliable. Why would you exchange years of known reliability for a Boeing like company looking to cut corners in order to boost its share price for greedy investors?

              That's a falicy. Both intel and AMD push their processors as far as they dare without compromising reliability. Overclocking is the same as getting your motor chipped.

                Both AMD and Intel offer processors designed to be overclocked - e.g. for gamers using high end coolers.

                      I don't quite think they are 'designed' to be overclocked per se. They are designed to meet a minimum criteria and that criteria is highest level they can absolutely guarantee. Like anything such as safe levels of drugs, best before dates and the like, safe weight limits etc. It's a decided threshold rather than an absolute maximum. In many cases the thresholds are much much lower than the possible for differing reasons.
