Their processors are jus no reliable. Why would you exchange years of known reliability for a Boeing like company looking to cut corners in order to boost its share price for greedy investors?"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". What is your evidence for processors in general being unreliable?Originally posted by scooterscot View PostTheir processors are jus no reliable. Overclocking. If you have to overclock to get performance you've failed at the first post.Originally posted by AtW View PostWhat is your evidence for processors in general being unreliable?"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". That's a falicy. Both intel and AMD push their processors as far as they dare without compromising reliability. Overclocking is the same as getting your motor chipped.Comment

Both AMD and Intel offer processors designed to be overclocked - e.g. for gamers using high end coolers.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

I don't quite think they are 'designed' to be overclocked per se. They are designed to meet a minimum criteria and that criteria is highest level they can absolutely guarantee. Like anything such as safe levels of drugs, best before dates and the like, safe weight limits etc. It's a decided threshold rather than an absolute maximum. In many cases the thresholds are much much lower than the possible for differing reasons.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostBoth AMD and Intel offer processors designed to be overclocked - e.g. for gamers using high end coolers.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!
