That would happen if an array (e.g. of members whose birthday it is) was passed into a template that was expecting a string… but that's built-in vBulletin stuff, so I'm not sure why it would break. So there should either be a loop going on in the template, or maybe the things that populate the birthday and online lists should be looping over the arrays to turn them into a string for later use, possibly by applying a template to each element.
