That was me stealing his test network (although technically we referred to it as "borrowing") but I'm glad to see the Russians have a different interpretation of the facts...

Sounds good. Balance is important in life.

But Zopa could go Wonga so be careful.

My outgoings are more than yours and we still have to prepare for increasing costs as the kids get older. So retiring on £x amount might seem reasonable now but I wouldn't want to struggle when the kids are older and going through Uni etc.

And don't talk to me about tax

We need a NorthHants catchup. Use your leisure time to sort it out.

                  https://app.uown.co/properties

9% return on Stanmore Street (guaranteed(?) for 2 years)

Downsides - you have to sell your shares and find someone to buy them to get your original investment back. For average investor, no tax. For contractor who takes dividends, your prevailing tax rate.

I've stuck a non-trivial but modest amount in. So far, living up to promise.

Hmm. There's actual houses underpinning this. You might be right, and my investment choices have had mixed outcomes. Concept seems sound though. They do have a guaranteed rebuy property but the return is lower at 5.5%. Happy so far, will no doubt come whinging when I lose all my money.
