Can relate to this. My wife had a swelling below her right ear that was quite painful. She was put on the "urgent" queue, which meant she got an appointment for a scan in 3 weeks, then another 3 weeks for result of the scan, which was inconclusive. Another 3 weeks to get an appointment to draw out fluid from the swelling, and 3 weeks to get the report on that. However just before the appointment date, we got another letter through the post stating that appointment has been pushed ahead by another 3 weeks! At this point, we took a private appointment with the doc who was supposed to assess the report, paid £400 including swab test, and he mentioned that the report was again inconclusive, since the extracted fluid did not have enough cells to form a proper opinion of what could be going wrong. However he contacted NHS, and arranged for an expedited appointment (another 2 weeks), but by that time the swelling had receded, which meant there was no fluid to extract and no cells.
Thankfully our annual visit to India was coming up, so we uploaded the DVD we got from the initial scan, had a doctor in India assess it, and it turned out to be connected with her tonsillitis problems as we suspected. She had her tonsils removed in India, and touch wood it's all been fine since then.Last edited by tranceporter; 20 February 2019, 12:31.I am Brad. of course we want to treat PCOriginally posted by NotAllThere View PostI'm not sure that Switzerland is that desperate either. But since NHS Wales is so dire, perhaps he'll find NHS England more to his liking.
