In the UK it's 50/50 ie Employer 13.8% Employee 13% but this includes pension as well.Originally posted by stek View PostNHS should be free and fit for purpose, and funded by industry, not the common man. Why?
Cos the common man makes the stuff, and when it's made consumes/buys the stuff the drive the profit for industry. Without that, a sick, ill workforce/consumer base isn't gonna make anything or buy anything. Means no profit.
The workers do truly own the means of production. And consumption. I think Marx (well Engels) missed the last bit.
In other EU countries ie Belgium its about 30% employer and 13.8% employee, which is why as a contractor it's better to be self employed at 22% or in my case over 65 14%.
I pay €26 to visit my doctor and then I receive a receipt, which I send to my public health insurance and receive €19 back.
All doctors are walk in walk out. You only need an appointment for a specialist.
