Why is the thread on Daily Mail intimidation of Universities closed?
It was closed because the moderators of this forum are getting sick to the teeth of the constant threads about Brexit. While we try to work on an acceptable solution we're just going to do our best to keep this place a bit more civil

Why not delete or lock any threads that don't make any new points?
There's going to be a rash of news in the next few months about the single most important issue in modern British times - are we supposed to ignore that?

Indeed, 50% of the newspaper headlines are about "it".
It's a bit like banning threads on the 2 world war during the 2nd world war.
We are considering setting up a section of the forum just for discussing it.
Yes, it is possibly the most important thing to have happened since the war, but most of the threads on here regarding it are not discussions or debates but attacks/rants, which tend to reinforce divisions.

You mean like in parliament, in the newspapers, on the radio and on TV.
I mean we're expected to sit through endless radio shows with the likes of Katie Hopkins, Julia-Hartley Brewer and Nigel Farage ranting at us.
For the last 20 years I've had to endure endless Eurosceptic rants every time I visit Britain.
