As Bluenose has pointed out Merkel received a Germany that was well on its way to repair if not ready to succeed. She is going to go down as the woman that broke the damn of asylum seekers and sent forth a backlash of the right wing faction and taking on far too much debt for the German people trying to bail out Greece.
