If there was a restaurant in London where the staff couldn't speak English there would be Tory politicians queueing up to be outraged.

So these restaurants only speak to Germans?Comment

No.Originally posted by vetran View PostSo these restaurants only speak to Germans?
You really struggle with basic reading in English. Maybe you need a lesson or two.
It's not about speaking to tourists/customers.
Stop twisting it to suit your hatred of foreigners, because if you dropped that for a second, you could far easier twist his words to say that he is doing exactly what you'd like the UK to do. But that would mean you'd be saying a foreigner got it "right" in your mind.
Both of which are not what his little pass-remark at the end of the paragraph were about.
But hey ho, ignore the facts because they don't fit with your agenda.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Indeed after Britain has left the EU it will still have to export 40% of its goods and services there and import 40% of its goods from it or starve.Originally posted by sasguru View PostYou don't deep down.

....and renegotiate 75 different trade agreements to simply replace the ones they lose by leaving the Customs Union.
So the EU will still dominate everyone's life just as Europe has dominated British life for centuries.
Even the US didn't succeed in being isolationist.

Eventually though the UK will be free of the EU and snuggle into the warm embrace of the US as the de facto 51st puppet state (yes sir, whatever you say, three bags full sir)Originally posted by BlasterBates View PostIndeed after Britain has left the EU it will still have to export 40% of its goods and services there and import 40% of its goods from it or starve.

...and the sh*t hot chief trade negotiator they wanted from Canada has turned down the post, so the UK will have to do with a second rate negotiator from New Zealand.

plenty of restaurants in the UK where many of the staff don't speak english at all, they just stay in the kitchen, do try to get out more. Plenty of the local restaurants don't speak a good standard of english front of house. I have also been in a Turkish restaurant in Germany where you ordered in German, English or Turkish (I assume there were others) but the kitchen spoke only Turkish.Originally posted by BlasterBates View PostIf there was a restaurant in London where the staff couldn't speak English there would be Tory politicians queueing up to be outraged.
Same for shops.
I am not twisting it, he said everyone should speak german even the immigrants its a case of national pride . Not sure how that is twisting it.Comment
