One of my school friends' parents owned a shop and they had a big scary dog - unless you knew it and he knew you. Anyway their shop got burgled. However the burglars made sure they fed the dog poisoned meat first.
My friend and her parents were more upset about the dog being killed than losing their stock.
Happened to a neighbors dog when we lived in Thailand, a poisoned Steak thrown over the wall
Spoke to Car insurance company yesterday and the way they treated me it was as if I had planned it all and was committing fraud. Two of the questions were "why do you think your car was stolen? Did you give anyone reason to do this?" WTF?

Which insurer was it, I would like to avoid them in the future.
Tell you what its a different world. Where I live you hear of these things but its more like an urban myth....
Mrs regularly forgets to lock the front door all day, or overnight. Or the back door is unlocked. Shes even gone out once or twice and left the front door wide open. Never any problems.
If Im home I dont bother to lock the car on the driveway. (I do overnight).
To be fair you could do that most places and it's still very low risk - unless you get people walking down your street trying all the doors and cars. Which presumably happens in some places.
Probably it's one of those things where it's 100:1 rather than 1000:1 until a gang decides to target your street
We're off the beaten track now so you'd have to specifically target us but on the other hand it's very secluded so if you did, nobody would see you and if we shouted nobody would hear. Security lights make it seem safer although when you've the curtains shut you cannot tell they've come on... must be a way to remedy that.
