I know you're a bit thick, but how does finding a private GP help?Originally posted by vetran View Post
Even you must understand how patient records are stored in the NHS.
I generally use private GPs anyway, but if you get old and have chronic diseases the private GP wount have access to your history.Hard Brexit now!

So anyway, stepping back from the usual mudsling that we come on here for.
The world of general practice is not a happy one these days, it's 12 hour days and the issue is not people turning up for paracetamol.Comment

Funnily enough dentistry works really well now its been semi-privatised. Next day and weekend appointments- no problem.Hard Brexit now!

Other people ring their GP at 8 in the morning to get an appointment for that day rather than going private. Not everybody is in a privileged enough position to afford the private healthcare. That in itself has changed; when I was a kid, you used to walk to the local GP and queue up in the waiting room until it was your turn. Proved a much better system because the genuinely ill don't mind waiting to be treated.Originally posted by sasguru View PostYes. The few times he's needed a doctor I've gone private.

True the NHS do not share automatically. You can get a summary and pass to the private GP, just like going to a different Garage for a service.Originally posted by sasguru View PostI know you're a bit thick, but how does finding a private GP help?
