Insofar as the economics of charging has reduced demand, maybe. There are of course many other factors to consider.

I know you're a bit thick, but how does finding a private GP help?
Even you must understand how patient records are stored in the NHS.
I generally use private GPs anyway, but if you get old and have chronic diseases the private GP wount have access to your history.

True the NHS do not share automatically. You can get a summary and pass to the private GP, just like going to a different Garage for a service.

Indeed its a less than Ideal solution. You would think major suppliers could negotiate with the NHS to have access with permission & for a fee. Its also in the NHS's interest to have up to date medical records if you present at A&E after a private appointment.
