Even you must understand how patient records are stored in the NHS.
I generally use private GPs anyway, but if you get old and have chronic diseases the private GP wount have access to your history.

Funnily enough dentistry works really well now its been semi-privatised. Next day and weekend appointments- no problem.

Yes. The few times he's needed a doctor I've gone private.

Other people ring their GP at 8 in the morning to get an appointment for that day rather than going private. Not everybody is in a privileged enough position to afford the private healthcare. That in itself has changed; when I was a kid, you used to walk to the local GP and queue up in the waiting room until it was your turn. Proved a much better system because the genuinely ill don't mind waiting to be treated.

True the NHS do not share automatically. You can get a summary and pass to the private GP, just like going to a different Garage for a service.
