None see the last paragraph you quoted, this is a win win win for any civil servant involved. The only attack that might have worked would have been via the £440m figure and my Freedom of Information request that showed no valid methodology was used to derive and extrapolate that amount.

Sadly that arrived too late and I'll leave the rest for those who can access the IPSE forum to work out.

just recieved this from IPSE, they can feck right off!!

This shower of shiite are really getting my goat now....

      Dear IPSE member

Invitation to a workshop on a new way to contract the services of freelance technicians
      8TH December 1pm – 4pm
The Met Hotel, Leeds City Centre

Hudson Contract is looking for a handful of members to provide feedback on a new and different way to contract the service of freelance technicians.

The new process will address the issue of supervision, direction and control (SDC) which is one of the central factors in determining IR35 and also impacts on the ability to claim expenses.

Once the process confirms the absence of SDC, it will take full responsibility for that status, providing contractors and their clients much greater surety of their tax liabilities.

Hudson Contract, who are developing the model, has extensive experience of status issues, particularly in the construction industry. They have asked us to invite a small group of IPSE members to help refine the new concept.

IPSE members will be entitled to invoice for the IPSE standard half-day rate of £250, plus standard class travel expenses.

A sandwich lunch will be served at 1pm with the session starting at 1.30.

Please let me know if you are able to attend the session by replying to this email.

      Kind regards

      Adam

Fighting for the right to be Freelance isn't the correct battle, fighting to be treated in the exact same way as permanent staff is the approach that needs to be taken.

Battle 2 is then to get employees to use the Equality Act 2010 to reclaim income they should have been paid due to performing tasks of equal importance to the contractors who have just been given employee rights.

End result £440m in lost income creates a £10bn additional salary bill.
I agree. We lost the employee fight,so now we are employees .

Now Gov better give us the same rights as the rest of their employees ....

          That's now the fight

            What does this mean?

"IPSE members will be entitled to invoice for the IPSE standard half-day rate of £250, plus standard class travel expenses."

IPSE will pay me £250 plus my standard class airfare and train expenses?

Or, I have to pay them?

I think I know the the answer....

IPSE or possibly Hudson will pay you.

Personally thats screaming alarm bells to me. There was a reason why I stopped Big Group running survey's on T&S this is not far removed from the tax avoidance schemes...

Just to clarify, contrary to what you (with no first-hand knowledge of Hudson's business or at what level their advisors operate at) may think, we can assure you that IF it was a tax avoidance scheme then IPSE would not and will not condone it.

IPSE, I appreciate it is early days but what now in terms of the Autumn statement? We can't be treated as businesses and taxed as employees surely? What is your thinking on next steps?
