    Gravel, gravel everywhere

Topdressing I believe it's called. And it's the work of the devil.

If you're on a bike, it's like cycling through treacle. If you're on a horse, well forget it.

Even when the stuff is bedded in it gives a nasty boneshaking surface.

Surely there's a better way to do this? You never see it on motorways etc.

Council cost cutting no doubt. A cheap way to cober up all those potholes.

Gravel is not normally used for bike routes

Try off-road then. It's safer for all of us.

they do in Slough. Blooming annoying its hard enough avoiding the pedestrians 6 abreast or muppets walking 8 dogs without finding yourself going sideways on gravel.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Horses came first. Roads were built for horses.

Horses have priority over all other forms of transport in the same way as sail before steam at sea.

A lot of people seem to have forgotten that

Don't worry, give it a couple of weeks and it will all have come loose and be lying in the gutters. Waste of money.

I hate cyclists on the roads, bloody nuisance they are.

Hate horses on roads too, don't they have their own bridle ways?

Bollx. The roads were built to march Roman soldiers on.
