    Jaguar XKR. Both MK's
Actually the true, under £5K, guaranteed future classic, is the original XJR. A true 911, Ferrari eating saloon. I had an 8 YO one and it still shocked some M series owners. It does depend on the driver tho', but the car does encourage with it's stability and poise.

        The Cresta looked pretty though.
I learnt to driver on a Rover 100 P4 sans working handbrake and seat belts.

Maserati Granturismo - can pick an 8 year old one up for 30-40k and it's one of the best looking cars out there.

Great car but £40K for an 8 year old car doesn't strike me as a bargain.

I'd rather have an R8 for the same money and age.

I know they can go but they've always looked like a squashed TT to me.

Or a ten-year-old Maserati Quattroporte so I can get the kiddie winkles in the back and only splash out £15K.

On Tuesday I bought the missus a 2002 Mercedes CLK 230 Cabriolet with 96K miles, full history and good nick for £1550. In real terms the first owner paid round £45K. Proper bangernomics.
